dnharvey is David N Harvey and his "black book" of experienced associates who can all be relied on to provide the skills needed to assist behind the scenes at a wide-range of theatre productions and other events.

David N Harvey has been contributing to smooth-running behind the scenes in a range of capacities for over 30 years. He first became involved in secondary school, with a foray into student TV at university. Subsequently he contributed to productions with a succession of theatre groups and is now producing and staging fringe theatre with a number of companies. He is also involved in TV, video and audio productions.

Involved in over 50 productions to date ranging from Abigail's Party (twice) to Zigger Zagger, David has breadth and depth of experience in a wide range of skills including set design and construction, sound design and operation, lighting design and operation, flying (counter-weight and hemp), stage management and crewing, and all aspects of theatre, audio-visual and information technology.

He has worked in venues of varying design including traditional proscenium arch (with and without flying), studio, in-the-round and in ad-hoc settings. He takes a professional approach, whatever the budget, using his broad experience to quickly assess and understand the situation and bring benefits to all aspects of the production.

In about a third of those productions David has been stage manager, priding himself in arranging for effective and snag-free running of the production, through careful planning and preparation, and the full collaboration of all departments.

David is Company Stage Manager for Network Theatre Company (www.networktheatre.org), with direct involvement in some company productions and advising others. He is actively involved in a number of improvements to theatre facilities such as lighting, sound, CCTV and communications, and documentation and training in the use of the theatre. As a voluntary member of the company's management committee he has also been actively involved in licensing, publicity and all aspects of running and maintaining the theatre and staging its productions.

David is Technical Director for Class Stage Productions (www.class-stage.co.uk), part of the production team staging Kirsty Eyre's work, responsible for all technical aspects of productions, including stage management, lighting and sound, and helping with publicity and web site. Class Stage Productions has produced shows at the Edinburgh Fringe and at London's Café de Paris, and also a short film working with Adam Simcox (www.adamsimcox.com).

David is part of the production team for Lion's Mane Theatre Arts t/a The Stage Company (www.stagecompany.co.uk), as co-producer and as technical director, responsible for both technical aspects and stage management. The Stage Company has produced shows at London's Riverside Studios, Richmond's Orange Tree Theatre and the Brighton Fringe.

David also works with Kipper Tie Theatre (www.kippertietheatre.com), as technical consultant and stage manager.
